Can YOU Really Save Money By Shopping Online?

More and more, you are probably hearing stories about how your friends and family are finding some great bargains by shopping on-line. The problem is that we never seem to remember the name of the website they told us about when it comes time to find the same bargains for ourselves.

If we do have the website address, more often than not, the products or services that we wanted are not longer available from that merchant.  It was just a ploy to get you to shop at their store, and that great bargain price has long ago expired.

So If We Want To Save Money, What Options Are Left To Us?

Well, we could try going from store to store, dodging traffic, wasting fuel, and getting totally frustrated trying to park our cars in an overcrowded lot in a less than safe shopping mall.  Or we could spend hours online looking for bargains of our own.

Well I don’t know about you, but I don’t like the first option one bit.  It is a complete waste of time and money, and is totally frustrating. Sure I may find what I am looking for, but am I really sure it was at the best price? Was it worth the hassle?

What you really need to be asking yourself is whether the discounted price or sale price you paid for the item really going to compensate you for all the time, effort, cost of fuel, or parking fees that you incurred as a result of your off-line shopping adventure? Probably not.

So the other alternative is shopping online.  Could that be as frustrating as shopping off-line?  It sure can!  Wandering through the Internet can take hours out of your life and when you do find a bargain, often time you lose track of where you were and never can find that merchant again.  Sure, the fact that you are shopping in the comfort and safety of your home and you are not wasting time and money running from store to store is a plus, but there is still something missing.

Is There A Solution?

You bet there is! One of the main reasons shopping malls are so popular is that you can shop a lot of stores in one place.  Huge names in the business become the “anchor” store and many smaller merchants fill in around them, making shopping a little more convenient.  But you either find yourself hopping from mall to mall to find the best stores, or you are hopping in and out of your car or walking great distances because these shopping centers have become “mega-centers” which can take a full day or more to walk through.

The best thing I love about online shopping is the advent of online shopping clubs. Just like off-line shopping clubs line such as Costco, BJ’s or Sam’s Club,  on-line shopping clubs have spent massive amounts of time, money and resources to make your online shopping experience the best it can be. Just as the off-line clubs do, the on-line clubs also work by charging you a monthly or annual fee to become a member.

But one club, the DHS Club, which has been in business since 1997,

is totally FREE to join.

These shopping mall portals as they are called are the quickest and easiest way to shop on-line and often off-line merchants. You can easily fine what you are looking for without a big hassle.

Once you have created an account with one of these shopping portals, you are given different categories of products you can look through to shop. A sample of the categories that the DHS Club offers is shown on the left.

Once you have chosen a category, you will be presented with a list of merchants that fit into that category.

If we were to open each of the merchant’s websites in a different web browser or different tabs in the same web browser, we could now search multiple merchants to see who has the best price and the availability of the product we are searching for.

No more will you be running from store to store and having to pass by stores that are selling items that we are not looking to purchase.  Add to this the fact that we are doing this from the comfort of our own home, you can see that this is a really great way to shop.

Wait, it gets even better!  Once you order the product, you often are given the choice of free in-store delivery where the merchant will ship the product to their off-line store for pick up, or they can deliver it direct to your door.

The great thing about the DHS Club is the fact that you get discounts and cash back rewards on your purchases through their on-line shopping mall system, simply be being a FREE registered member.  You see merchants want you to shop at their stores, so they are willing to give a discount to entice customers to shop at their  website.  DHS Club scours the Internet for the stores that will offer their members a discount.  That is why the card can be FREE.

One unique benefit of the DHS Club is the fact that in addition to the discounts you will receive, you will also earn Loyalty Club Rewards for both your on-line and off-line purchases.  Loyalty Club Rewards are just like the familiar frequent flyer miles that everyone is so familiar with.  Make a purchase, earn points, and spend them on purchases in a physical store, or even redeem them for CASH!

If you are still skeptical, read about my own experiences using the DHS club.

I have used my card to purchase clothing, pet supplies, music for my MP3 player, restaurants, and much, much more.

What have you got to lose (except money)? It’s FREE

  My Testimonials

I am a Registered Nurse and I am very hard on my uniforms.  I happen to like the uniform slacks that Wal-Mart carries, because they are a good quality and reasonably priced.  After ruining a pair of my work slacks, I needed to purchase a new pair. Normally I would have gone to the store an bought a new pair.  Easy enough, but this time I went through the DHS Club.  I did an alphabetical search for Wal-Mart since I knew what store I wanted, and sure enough I found the slacks I wanted.

The site directed me to my local store and informed me the slacks were “out of stock”.  So I ordered the slacks and had them shipped to my local Wal-Mart.  I received an email telling me the slacks were in, and on my next shopping trip, I picked them up.  So in this instance, I saved myself from an unnecessary trip to the store.

But wait, it even got better.  There were at least a dozen customers waiting in line at the customer service counter at my local Wal-Mart when I got there.  The pick-up counter for website purchases however,  was located in another part of the store, with no one in line.  I was in and out of there in minutes!

Another great experience I had using the DHS Club was this past Christmas when a relative passed away on Christmas Day.  I went to the DHS Club, and clicked on the category “flowers” and was presented with a list of some of the biggest names in flowers.  Unfortunately, as I went down the list, I was finding that they wouldn’t deliver a fruit basket for almost a week after New Years Day.  I just kept going down the list, and found a store called Red Envelope, who delivered a beautiful fruit basket the next business day. Can you imagine what a hassle that would have been to accomplish that purchase offline or online without the benefit of a shopping mall!

I  had purchased LifeLock, an identity theft protection program prior to joining the DHS Club.  I decided to add my husband to the program and found that by using my DHS Club card, it was less expensive than going through the company website directly.  So not only am I saving money on my monthly fee,  I earned Rewards Points for this purchase which I use to purchase other products and services.
